TeX Live 2008 i Ubuntu

Ubuntu installerer normalt programmer fra diverse repositories. Desværre er deres TeX Live version ret gammel og mangler en masse vigtige opdateringer. Da der ikke kommer nogen TeX Live 2008 direkte i Ubuntu og fordi visse programmer i Ubuntu afhænger af at der er LaTeX installeret, er her en artikel om hvordan man installerer TeX Live 2008 i Ubuntu, samt fortæller pakkehåndteringen at nu er LaTeX faktisk installeret.

Memoir chapterstyle showcase

Every once in a while a poster askes on comp.text.tex for memoir chapterstyle examples. So I have started collecting such a list, it will hopefully grow larger in the future. Half of the contributed styles listen in the file below have been take from comp.text.tex, credit to the original posters.

• Files available on CTAN

If there is a style one would like to use and modify, just download the source and compile it once. This will (among others) produce Name-style.tex which is an example file useing that particular style (Name).

Avoid eqnarray

A small article listing some of the reasons why one should not use the eqnarray-environment.
